August may see the release of Samsung's enormous 55-inch Odyssey Arc monitor.

A Korean media site said that Samsung will launch its 55-inch curved Odyssey Arc display in August. The ETNews (Via Sammobile) Monitor, which was unveiled at CES in January, is said to have completed the necessary certification processes before going on sale.

Still lacking are many specifics concerning this monitor. According to the manufacturer, the 16:9 4K display will enable pivot, tilt, and rotation. Additionally, it stated that it will be released in the second half of 2022. (reports of which fall in the August window category). But let's face it, even if you don't mention the price or refresh rate, people will notice when you use a display that threatens to practically tower over them.

According to Samsung, the dial is used to control "lighting and interface." thus it will be quite hard to reach the back button.

There are several of us here on this ledge. We gave this monitor Best in Show at CES 2022 because we were so enthusiastic about it. Samsung did they introduce a very curved, extremely huge monitor that can stretch over and around you, or was it just a fever dream? But as is the case with many CES announcements, as the months go by, the deluge of gadgets and innovation may make it hard to miss anything. It was really announced, and the rumors that it could actually appear soon serve as a reminder that we are looking forward to it.

The fact that Samsung has successfully released other monitors that it announced around CES this year lends some credence to the allegation. The Odyssey Neo G8, a smaller (read: more manageable sized) curved gaming display, as well as the somewhat less ambitious (but still rather adorable) M8 monitor, have already begun appearing on store shelves. It's encouraging to note that Samsung has a history of delivering its CES monitors this year, even though it's not conclusive evidence that the Ark is in the lead.
